The visitors attack featured the hot perimeter shooting of Ethan Payne (15 points, including five 3 pointers) and Jack Fricka scored 11 points inside the paint for the Wolverines. West Potomac jumped out to a 23-8 advantage after one quarter, but the Forge responded in the second quarter, outscoring West Potomac 20-12 to cut the deficit to 35-28 at the break. The second half it was all West Potomac as they put their stamp on this game in the third holding the Forge to just 3 points in the frame to lead 53-31 after three. Both teams turned to their reserves in the final quarter before the Wolverines walked off with the 68-42 win. The big stat of the game was that 11 of 13 Wolverine players scored in the contest, while just 5 Eagles hit the score sheet. Martin Kawa led the Forge with a game high of 21 points, while Trevor Franklin tallied a dozen for the Eagles. The Eagles record fell to 6-5 overall on the year and they will get back into Commonwealth District action on Tuesday night when they host the North Stafford Wolverines.
